Thanks to Ariana Grande, you can start your procrastinating week-end with a few classic early 2000’s comedy where women were the most badass chicks ever. For the few of you who missed the references in her latest clip, Thank You, Next, here’s a little guide.
Thank You, Next‘s story is based on Ariana Grande moving on from her break up with former fiancé, SNL’s actor Pete Davidson. As the classy, fulfilled and great woman she is, she answered to a somewhat petty joke from the comedian made with this song.
Obviously the song went viral right away, but Ari wasn’t done as she promised a clip worth waiting a month and delivered! She created remake of classical movies that we all love so much: Mean Girls, Legally Blonde, 13 Going 30 & Bring it On. All of which were approved by some original casts such as Eliza Dushku, Gabrielle Union, Lindsay Lohan, Reese Witherspoon and even Mark Ruffalo.
Of course, a special clip couldn’t have been done without special guests. She had her co-star from Victorious, Elizabeth Gillies, as the Cady Heron to her Regina George, Kris Jenner who’s the mom she was meant to be since the day she took photos of Kim Kardashian, telling her how amazing she’s doing.
Other infamous guests are Jonathan Bennett and Jennifer Coolidge who retake their role as, respectively, Aaron Samuels in Mean Girls and Paulette in Legally Blonde.
Here’s the list of what I hope will be your next marathon. We’ll officially call it the “Grande Marathon”. Let’s make it happen.
